Judi Allen is SVP, Client Solutions at Nielsen, leading the company’s relationships with cable, satellite and telco video distributors. In this role, she leads a team who consult, sell and service media and marketing measurement and analytic products to aid distributors as both advertisers and marketers. She also started and runs the company’s Cable Advisory Board which meets with senior industry advertising and video strategy leaders twice yearly.
She previously held roles as VP of Video Product Strategy and Business Development at Time Warner Cable, SVP of Video at MediaOne Group and SVP of Marketing and Programming at Century Communications. Allen’s notable accomplishments at Time Warner Cable include the first-ever TV Everywhere agreement negotiated with ESPN, the strategy and development of Time Warner Cable TV’s iPad app, a bandwidth reclamation project saving millions of dollars in capital, and leading a local programming strategy initiative that drove a recommitment to and reorganization of the company’s local programming assets.
Allen was founder and president of ALLENStrategies, Inc., a strategy consulting and interim executive firm for several years, serving clients across the programmer, distributor and vendor community with assignments as broad as developing on air rebranding and managing the upfront for a Canadian broadcaster, developing the content strategy for a new multichannel video entrant to repurposing online video assets for a mid-size programmer.
She is a graduate of the first class of Betsy Magness and the first class of the industry’s Wonder Women Award recipients. Allen was honored as Woman of the Year by the Rocky Mountain chapter of WICT and is a former Board and Executive Committee member of CTAM. She is a former Board member and Compensation Committee chair of Rentrak. Allen holds degrees from Brown University and Harvard Business School.
